Professor Jim Davies and Dr Steve Harris
Tuesday 12th June 2007: "Clinical trials in the 21st century - challenges and opportunities"
Building upon the scientific advances of the late 20th century, Prof Davies and Dr Harris will explore the ideas of translational research, how to connect lab work to clinical outcomes, and the promises which have been made to revolutionise medicine. How do clinical trials make all this happen, and what evidence do they provide?
They will talk about the ways in which clinical evidence is collected, and examine the implications for the subjects involved in the trials, as well as the potential benefits for society as a whole.
Come along and join us at 7pm in Blackwells Main Bookshop, Broad Street, Oxford.
