Dr John Packman
14th February 2006: "Floods happen (in Oxford too) - how can science help??"
Dr Packman is a flood predictor at the Wallingford Hydrology Institute. The challenge for the scientists there is to try and predict the frequency of flooding, based on a mass of factors. How is this done, and what implications does their research have for those of us living on flood plains?
Come along and join us at 7pm in Blackwells Main Bookshop, Broad Street, Oxford.
