Thames, Temple, Princess Elizabeth, Wyfold and Britannia Challenge Cups reach their second round tomorrow. For round-up of today's rowing, click here.

Starting tomorrow: Visitors', Fawley, Diamond Sculls, Princess Royal, Double Sculls and Silver Goblets.

Koven, Searle, for Diamonds; Brandin, Rutschow for Princess Royal

The Diamond Sculls could be set for a re-run of last year's final, with the holder Jamie Koven and previous winner Greg Searle selected into different halves of the draw. Two other scullers are selected - the German Marcel Hacker, fourth in the second round of the World Cup, in Searle's half and the American Aquil Abdullah, second in US trials to Koven, is in Koven's half.

In the Princess Royal, Sweden's Maria Brandin attempts her sixth consecutive win, although she has been troubled by back injury. She gets a bye to race the winner of tomorrow's heat between Britain's Alison Mowbray and the Australian Christine Gosling. The other selected sculler with a bye is Katrin Rutschow, ranked third in the world, who will meet the 1998 junior Debbie Flood.

The crews of note in the Silver Goblets are Stephen Williams and Simon Dennis, second in the Vienna round of the World Cup, and the Australians David Weightman and Rob Scott who were second in the Olympics to Redgrave and Pinsent and have taken two years off. Their re-entry has been less than spectacular so far this season.

All eyes are on Peter Haining and the Hungarian Lazlo Szogi in the Double Sculls, but the American lightweight and open doubles Groom and Tucker and Peterson and McGowan are in separate halves and could end up in an all-American July 4 final.

The Visitors' has four selected crews. Oxford Brookes start out against the University of London, Oxford University against Exeter University, Imperial College against Caius, and Durham University against Leicester University.

The Fawley for junior quadruple sculls has an entry of 24 and will hot up on Friday when the eight selected crews enter the fray. They are Sydney RC from Australia, Southport School of Australia, Royal Chester and Queen's Park, King's College School, Wycliffe, Tiffin, Eton and Winchester.
