The cover photograph for the special 100th issue of Regatta Magazine was taken by Jaap Oepkes, a freelance photographer working from London.

It was taken from the bottom of an open air swimming pool in Putney, and the sculler is Peter Haining. Jaap used scuba equipment to take the picture, but held his breath for each take, to avoid bubbles disturbing the surface. The green shadows on the left are the trees beside the pool.
