- A report from the ULWBC Trial Eights (UK), held this afternoon in London.
- Legendary Calgary businessman dies (Edmonton Sun, Canada) - an obituary of Cambridge Blue (1964) John Lecky.
- Canada's Foundation 2000 Plus announced this week that the national 2003 Dynamic Opportunities for Youth rowing program will be launched soon, five months ahead of schedule. It is a national initiative inviting marginalised youngsters to attend a free 10-session introduction to rowing at their local club. More information on F2000's website.
Wednesday 26th February 2003
- An alert from the NE region of the UK that any crews thinking of fitting Concept-II-type "erg" foot fastenings into their boats will not be complying with the England and Wales ARA Water Safety Code, unless heel restraints are also fitted (and even then please ensure easy foot release).
Monday 24th February 2003
- The American Rowing News paper (was the Independent Rowing News) has moved upmarket with a different format and change of image. Many regular features remain, and it is still bimonthly.
- Announcing the Project 'Horizonte 2008' in Portugal: a new initiative looking at bringing on future world class Portuguese rowers.
- A few results from the FISA Team Cup this last weekend in Spain.
Tuesday 11th February 2003
- Glasgow University BC (Scotland) are trying to update their former members database. They have created a page on their website where alumni can fill in their current details.
- And Birmingham BC (UK) are doing the same, with new alumni pages on their website.
Sunday 9th February 2003
- City of Bristol RC (UK) are rapidly approaching their 50th anniversary year. They are starting to put archive material on their website and are appealing for anyone with old photos or stories about the club to get in touch.
