- Richard Packer has created some JavaScript calculators on his personal rowing-related website to help UK crews calculate junior and veteran age categories (and also vet handicaps).
Monday 24th March 2003
- Results for Kingston Head (UK) now out. I am told that London's 'A' crew (setting off number 1) decided to go the wrong side of Raven's Ait, and as a result were disqualified. Crabtree (starting no. 2) inadvisedly followed them, and suffered the same fate.

- New Zealand are the first country to announce their international squad for the pre-Worlds season this year.
Tuesday 18th March 2003
- Results from the Heineken Roeivierkamp Regatta on the Nereus website (Netherlands). Skoll (international development crew) won the women's, and an Imperial/Dutch stroked by Dan Ouseley and including Dirk Cirkel the men's, after a national-based crew withdrew due to Olympic champion Bartman's back injury. - German rowing site Rudern1 has an article and pictures of the new "slide rigger" Empacher have made for world champion Marcel Hacker.
- Davies RowTech are now the UK agents for Cadence FC ratemeters (the gadgets which fit on the blade loom and work on feathering action). See website for details or email davies.rowtech@virgin.net.

- On the rec.sport.rowing international newsgroup, from James Elder, "This year's Boustead (the annual grudge match between the men's first eights of London RC and Thames RC) was won by Thames, who beat London by 3/4 length after a cracking race."

- A story Ocean Rowing Society, about a memorial to rowers lost at sea.
