Later correction - I gather the ranking is done by weighting Olympic medals x3 rather than making them over-rule worlds medals. - In eight days time (Sunday 22nd March) will be the Henley Boat Races, the women's and lightweights races between Oxford and Cambridge Universities (UK). They have a desperate need for more volunteers to spend an hour or two helping with parking, or selling programmes, on race day. Unlike clubs, there is no army of regular helpers, and the races are not funded in any way by the universities (the clubs aren't either, other than a few percent of their budgets). The call has already gone out to alumni who have rowed or coxed in the Henley Races but this is a public appeal to anyone who would be able to help for a short time on race day: your support would be much appreciated. All profit from programme sales and parking goes to help put on the races without it costing the clubs. Please email Adrian Sanmogan.

- Sculling Head moves to Dorney (UK): The Environment Agency has advised the National Junior Sculling Head organisers that it is likely the Henley reach will be on red boards on Monday, thus the event is moving to Dorney. It will probably be windy, but the opinion of the Dorney Lake managers is that it will most probably be rowable there. Instructions will be sent round later. They may have to make the start times earlier because of the number of crews but will advise. There will also be instructions for those wishing to bring trailers in on Sunday. See the official website for new details, start list and boating times.
- Company for sale (UK): From the current proprietor - "Very reluctant sale of good profitable up and running rowing related business. Genuine reason for urgent sale due to bad back injury. The business was established in 2001, is easily relocatable and being sold as a going concern. It would make an excellent bolt-on business for a current rowing/ fitness company, or for an individual looking for a change of direction. There is excellent expansion potential and it is well known and used throughout rowing circles, gyms & health clubs. We are still fully trading whilst a buyer is found. More information on the business and genuine enquiries via www.Rowgear.co.uk. Regards, Ric Colborne."
